I tried to post earlier and I think I didn't do it correctly. So, here it goes again. My scanner broke and I am trying to find a compatible one to work well with Open Book. Most of the scanners on Freedom Scientific's web site are no longer produced. I called them and noone there was helpful. One person told me that all scanners are compatible, which isn't true because I bought one before my current one that took five minutes to display the whole picture. I need to find one quickly, because I use it almost every day. Epsons seem to have the best ratings, but all but one on the web site are no longer made. The one that is available is a multifunction machine. I don't want the multifunction machine. Thanks for any info you can pass on.

hate to say it, but this isn't an area where you can be picky. if it works, get it.

Epson scanners will do the job. I have used them with both kurzweil and openbook.

Canon is excellent it's the all in one that might be the problem. don't know about openbook but Kurzweil hates all in one's although the epson will work for some reason.
